| Thiess Kentz Bundamba Team |
Thiess Kentz employees on the Bundamba 1B Project held a celebratory evening on 8th March as the project reached 95% completion. It was also held in honour of staff moving on to new projects. Thiess Kentz provided technical and engineering support since July 2007, when the project began. This included project management, design, procurement and construction.
On the night of the celebrations Kelvin O’Keeffe, Eastern Region Operations Manager, Australia, gave a short speech thanking the group for a job very well done. Ten of the 16 Thiess Kentz Bundamba team members made it to Brisbane for the event, as well as Kelvin from the Brisbane office.
There was also a team lunch on the final day of the project for the supervisors and engineers who then moved on to other projects on 14th March.
Thiess Kentz would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work put in by the Bundamba staff and wish them the best on their future projects.

Day 2

• Effective communication
• Understanding Kentz
management information
• Assessment process
• Review of workshop |
The course, which was presented by Eric Sandelands, Corporate Learning Consultant, and Donal O'Neill, HR Systems and Graduate Development Manager, proved to be very beneficial to all involved. A set list of topics was covered over the two days (see panel on right).
During each session the mentees were split into groups and assigned tasks directly related to the topic of that particular session. Each group had to present their own solution for that task. The main advantage of this was the fact that not everyone shared the same opinion and so a lot could be learned from people's different experiences in the office or on site.
The second day concluded with a review of the workshop material and the group was encouraged to incorporate these new ideas into their daily working lives to enhance their management of tasks and people.
To celebrate the success of the workshop, a dinner was held at the Mexican restaurant in the Marriott which everyone really enjoyed. Thank you to all mentees and mentors that participated. |

| HSE Conference Attendees 2008 |
The Annual Kentz HSE Conference was held in Faithlegg House Hotel, Co. Waterford in Ireland on 10th April. The Conference was attended by senior Kentz management from our offices around the world, as well as some of our business partners and key clients. The theme of this year’s Conference was “Working Safety from the Ground Up – Rationalising Differences in Risk Tolerance and Mitigation”. During the Conference there were two workshops. Some great ideas came from these workshops, these are currently being analysed to see how best to incorporate them into our existing safety practices.
There will be a full feature on the HSE Conference in the August issue of Kentz Group News.

Tom psyching himself up for his turn |
On Thursday, 3rd of April a handful of the Kentz staff in Clonmel decided to have an evening of bowling. The venue was Hot Shots Bowling Centre. It was an eventful evening as John Williams easily beat off any close (and not so close) competition with his numerous strikes and spares. Gwen Gannon and Ronan O’Brien also impressed with their talents. The rest of the players were all equally as bad as each other and more fun was had as a result of their lack of bowling abilities. Undoubtedly, next on the agenda will be a Kentz Bowling Team in Clonmel! A great evening was had by all and for some the night didn’t end there. We will all have to wait and see what the gang in Clonmel will get up to next. Surely we will see the troops out parading across the lanes once more!

Waste Water Celebrations in Ras Laffan
On the Thursday, 27th March 2008 Qatar Kentz, together with Shell, celebrated the handing over of the Pearl GTL Waste Water Treatment Facility to Ras Laffan Industrial City. The celebration was held in the private function room at Garvey’s and was attended by employees of Qatar Kentz, Shell and KBR.
With drinks and delicious food on offer, the party was a great success and went on well into the night. The Kentz staff in Qatar would like to thank Brendan Toomey for organising the function and also to all those who attended. We extend an even bigger thanks to all the Qatar Kentz staff who worked so hard to ensure that this project was such a great success.
