Talent Management System
The roll-out of the new Kentz Human Resources (HR) system, the Ultipro Talent Management System, will begin in January 2009. The system will be used for employees of Patterson Grade D1 and above. It will allow managers to complete performance reviews on-line, manage their teams, request and record training on Skill Enhancement Courses (SECs), check the required training for a role and manage competency development.
Currently the Corporate HR department is completing the 2008 performance reviews in the system. Reviews completed in January 2008 can go onto the system and will be completed by the 1st quarter 2009. Corporate HR are also bringing training records up-to-date for all D1 employees and above who attended the SECs, the Executive Diploma in Leadership Management and the Masters in Business Administration courses.
The roll-out plan will be communicated shortly to the regions so watch this space! |

Silver for Brad Congratulations to Brad Clegg, Electrical Superintendent based at Thiess Kentz's Lake Vermont CHPP Project, for his participation in the World Lifesaving Championships held in Berlin, Germany in August 2008.
Brad is a member of the Ithaca-Caloundra City Lifesaving Club where he takes part in beach patrols in the summer. The Ithaca-Caloundra club is the smallest lifesaving club on the Sunshine Coast and is part of Royal Life Saving Australia.
Brad entered the line rescue in the men's masters (40-45 years) with team-mate Rob Reid. Together they managed to secure a silver medal with a time of 12.38 seconds. This was the second fastest time of the day in any age group against 11 other teams from around the world.
Prior to entering this competition Brad had never participated in a swimming competition. Well done from all in Thiess Kentz and best of luck for the 2010 World Lifesaving Championships to be held in Newquay in Cornwall, England. |

On Thursday 4th December the Kentz girls from the Clonmel office enjoyed a night out to celebrate Christmas and to wish Teresa O'Brien, Group Financial Controller, and Gwen Gannon, Group Training & Development Officer, well as they both are going on maternity leave.
We enjoyed a fantastic meal in a restaurant in a small town near Clonmel. We swapped our €5 ‘Secret Santa’ presents before dinner was served. It kick-started the night with lots of laughter, “ohhs” and “ahhs” of delight. The festivities went on to a club where we danced the night away. We even bumped into some of our male colleagues, who shall remain nameless. They just couldn't stay away!
A great night was had by all the girls and we are looking forward to hearing the great news of the new arrivals from the mums-to-be. |

| Excited fans enjoying the Dubai Rugby 7s |
|
Once again Kentz returned to Dubai to enjoy the Dubai Rugby 7s as well as a few rounds
of golf with our clients on the weekend of 27th-30th November.
The weekend kicked off on Thursday with the Corporate Golf Day between Kentz, Dome and GPS at the Montgomery Golf Course in Dubai. A barbeque was held later that evening at the Montgomery, where the golfers of the day were acknowledged and the guests were able to enjoy some great food and live music. The night set the tone for the weekend and allowed the traveling party to relax and get acquainted.
Friday saw the official tournament kick off and the die-hard rugby fans headed off to the new rugby stadium, The Sevens, whilst the golfers tried their hand at the Four Seasons Al Badia Golf Course. Some of the aspiring Tiger Woods thought the previous day hadn't been too good and had hoped to improve their score sheets on this course. However, it proved to be even less forgiving!
On Saturday everybody headed off to the rugby for what was an incredibly exciting day, especially if you were English or South African. There was much rivalry during the final game, but the South Africans managed to pip the English at the post.
Overall it was a great weekend and a nice break from what has been a very busy year for all
in Kentz in the Middle East. We look forward to seeing everyone at the same time and place next year! |

Buks Meyer, Payroll Manager, fired up the barbecue and all attendees enjoyed the afternoon in the company of directors such as Hugh O'Donnell, Chief Executive Officer Kentz; Eoin Hurley, Regional Manager, Kentz South Africa; Terry Henebrey, Maintenance and Shutdowns Division Manager; as well as Neville Venter and Sunil Ramkillawan. Hennie Engela from the Vanderbijlpark office was also in attendance for the Kentz Integrated Solutions Board of Directors meeting.
Hugh addressed the crowd and gave a brief outline of the Company's position with respect to the current global economic situation and our vision for the year ahead.
