Note from the Editor

Kentz NewslettersWelcome to the first edition of @ Kentz, a new communication platform for all Kentz employees. This is aimed at you, the employee and it is my objective to ensure that key strategic projects and developments within the company coupled with some social news from around the Group offices are clearly communicated to all employees in a timely and friendly manner. @ Kentz will be issued on a monthly basis by email. This newsletter is for you, therefore any feedback or input you may have would be gratefully received.

Communication is an important tool for a developing global company of our size and stature. It’s important that you are fully briefed and aware of the company’s direction, values, goals and objectives. @ Kentz is one element of the corporate communications plan for 2007. I am also developing Inside Kentz which is a quarterly printed newsletter for employees only. Kentz Group News will continue to be published on a quarterly basis; with the focus on project awards, milestones and completion, sponsorships etc.

I hope you enjoy the first edition of @ Kentz and I look forward to receiving some of your stories. Don’t forget this is your newsletter and not mine!

Kind regards,
Regina

Kentz Employee Referral Programme

You can help Kentz, a friend and yourself by participating in the Kentz Employee Referral Programme!

As part of the recent Human Resource workshop it was decided to enhance the Employee Referral Programme.

If you are an eligible employee you can nominate an external applicant for an advertised position in the scheme. Where the applicant is hired and completes their probation period you will then receive US$1,000.

How The Employee Referral Programme Works
The Employee Referral Programme is open to all employed staff in Kentz with the exceptions of the Group and Subsidiary HR Departments, Subsidiary General Managers and their Management Teams and the Board of Management.

How Do I Refer an External Applicant?
For any candidate who you think can work for Kentz, either locally in your area or internationally in Kentz simply send the CV of the candidate to head of Human Resources in your office and copy to Mary McGrath at Clonmel hr@kentz.ie.

How Do I Get My Cash Award?
The Subsidiary HR Department will pay you an award of US$1,000 if the person you referred is hired for a designated position anywhere in the group and completes their probation period. You must be a current employee of Kentz at that time to collect payment.

What Else?
If you have any further questions about the Employee Referral Programme, please call or email your HR Department.

EPC Culture and Systems
The EPC Culture and Systems Strategic Project was initiated to develop and formalise the practices and procedures we use to tender and execute EPC projects, and to also bring about a change in the culture of the company to recognise and respect the differences between EPC project execution and our traditional construction-only work.

The project kicked off in June of last year with a target completion date of December 2007. A series of workshops with participants from across the group were held in September, October and November to map the processes involved in EPC projects and to identify the best practices, procedures and systems for Kentz to use. Also addressed in the workshops was the integration of these with the company IMS procedures.

During the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2007, a set of EPC manuals will be produced and, in the second half of 2007, these manuals will be rolled out in parallel with a series of cultural change workshops.

Further updates on the progress of the project will be issued in future monthly newsletters and a more detailed outline of the project will be included in Inside Kentz.

Kentz South Africa Celebrate the Opening of Their New Office

Kentz South Africa held an office warming for all employees and their families recently. To the left and below are some photos which capture the event. The celebration took the form of an up-market but informal ‘lamb on the spit’ - a great feast of lamb, beef, sausages, vegetables, salads and desserts. The party animals initiated the 'New' Corkonian pub and partied into the night to the music supplied by Kentz Marketing. As usual a great time was had by all attendees as they marked the opening of the new office in style.
