At a recent workshop in Bahrain, employees of the Kentz Group from across functional and geographical boundaries gathered to discuss the successor to the older CCS and CPS project management utilities. The proposed new system, Project Cost Management System (PCMS), will combine both of these older applications into one single, web-based, integrated cost management system.
The workshop group concentrated on finalising the Functional Design Specification and formulated the basis for the proposed standardised cost coding methodology intended to be used across all projects in conjunction with the new PCMS application.
The PCMS application will be a project tool to provide for the most accurate Cost Management possible. The system will be used for all types and sizes of projects.
It will provide Project Managers with user-friendly reports. It will have a drill down ability of not just "cost to date" but also "cost to go". This will assist in the review of project reports by all levels of management. It will also benefit new projects that are of a similar nature by allowing the use of existing cost data.
It will also enable uniformity in reporting and will facilitate the consolidation of reporting on a subsidiary, regional and group level, allowing the same understanding of project cost control throughout the group.
Finally, this application will provide Management with a cost evaluation system to ensure the commercial outcome of a project. The Cost Control System will trap and forecast costs from "cradle to grave" i.e. from estimate/bid award through completion for all projects.

| Sizzling in Sakhalin |
ExxonMobil recently hosted a barbecue for the Kentz/EMDC EPC-4 PMT at the Dinamo Forest Park on the outskirts of Yuzhno Sakhalin. The EMDC/Kentz Integrated Completions/Commissioning and Turnover Team were responsible for Technical Management, System Commissioning and Asset Transfer of both the new ExxonMobil Head Office Block and Olympia Accommodation Complex associated with Sak-1 EPC-4 Project. Kentz would like to thank Tom Lindley for organising this celebration. A great night was had by all and the event finished up in the early hours of the morning in Lounge 8 of the Pacific Plaza Hotel, drinking Singapore Slings and watching the sun go down!

Gone Blue in the Face!
Kentz (Pty) Ltd South Africa is based in Gauteng and therefore a large number of the staff supposedly support the "Blue Bulls", who are the team that represent the Gauteng Province in the major Rugby League Tournament of the southern hemisphere known as “The Super 14’s”.
Adriaan Rossouw is a Site Supervisor with Kentz Telecoms and should be voted as the ‘Most Passionate Fan of the Year’. These photos were taken at a barbeque in his home, showing both his support and his family’s for “The Bulls”. One is always proud of staff that go the extra mile to show their support for their local sports heroes but is this guy overdoing it?
This year the final was held in Durban, South Africa on Saturday 19th May 2007.The two teams involved were “The Sharks” representing Kwa Zulu Natal, of which Durban is the capital city, and “The Blue Bulls”, representing Gauteng Province. It was one of the most exciting rugby matches ever, with the "Bulls" scoring a try in the final seconds to clinch the Cup.
