Board Walk

| Some of Kentz Board of Management and Board of Directors on the site visit. |
Qatar was the location for the recent meeting of the Board of Directors and Board of Management of Kentz Corporation Ltd. The Board of Management met on Sunday 4th March while the Board of Directors met on Wednesday 7th March.
In between these dates some of the members of both boards got around to something that had been talked about for some time. The Kentz visitors took a tour of Ras Laffan industrial city. Noel Kelly and James Moore took their colleagues around past and currently executed projects.
On the evening of 6th March, the Kentz Management held a reception at the Doha Golf Club which gave them an opportunity to meet some of Qatar Kentz clients, partners and employees. It turned out to be a great night with old friends getting re-acquainted. Ikeda San from CTJV bumped into a Project Director he had 25 years ago in New Zealand, Mr. Dave Beldotti, now a member of Kentz Board of Directors. One of Kentz partners, Fahad Al-Farden also attended the reception.
As usual Noel Kelly got the singing going with Martin Walsh, Pat Fogarty and Liam Wilson entertaining the troops. |
Colouring the Safety Future
We need the help of all of our Kentz kids and employees in designing and communicating what it really means to be HEALTHY & SAFE and have respect for the ENVIRONMENT that we work in. At Kentz we work all over the world, sometimes in difficult environments. We also work on sites where there is a lot of plant and machinery, cranes, trucks and scaffolding. We treat the Health and Safety of everybody who works for Kentz in the highest regard – SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE. We are very interested to receive your kids' thoughts on what it means to be safe, healthy and have respect for the environment, as they think differently to us parents.
To help us communicate this message across all of Kentz we want you to put your thoughts down in a picture. The winning pictures will be developed into a calendar of posters to help us in Kentz communicate how important Health, Safety and the Environment really is.
The calendar competition is open to both the children of Kentz employees and also Kentz employees themselves. There are 5 categories for the competition. The front cover winner will be selected from all the entrants selected by the subsidiaries. Each subsidiary will select 5 pictures for categories B, C, D, and E.
The prize money for the competition is US$2,000 plus each winner (13 in total) will receive a winner's T-shirt. In Category B, C, D and E, 5 runners-up will receive T-shirts.
Categories as follows:
Category A – Front Cover Winner – Open to all entrants
Category B – Employees' Children – 6 years and under
Category C – Employees' Children – 7–11 years
Category D – Employees' Children – 12–16 Years
Category E – Kentz Employees only
The competition will run until 31st July 2007.
The entries are to be submitted to the local HSE Managers for each country/subsidiary. The subsidiaries will forward to corporate after they have selected.
Winners will be notified by 31st August 2007.

KAD Team-Building Weekend
Kentz Automation & Drives (KAD) in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, had a team-building weekend in Port Shepstone on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast on 23rd February 2007 and took part in the annual Raft Race on the Umzumkulu River.
Their team left early on Friday morning and on arrival had a great barbeque close to the beach. It was an early rise on Saturday morning as each team had to build their own rafts in time for the start. This was a fun-filled weekend whereupon KAD employees were able to bond and really get to know each other much better. With the exception of a few bruises, nearly-broken legs and very funny-looking tans, everybody returned safely on the Sunday evening after a wonderful weekend. |
St. Valentine's Day on EPC 4 Project (Yuzhno, Sakhalin)... Surprises and Smiles!
 |
Russian translation and documentation on the EPC 4 project in Yuzhno, Sakhalin is managed capably by a team of local Sakhalin and Russian girls. This group of girls are involved across all aspects of the project, ranging from onsite translation for ex-pat supervisors to Russian personnel, translating Russian documentation and supporting the project team with all project documentation and administration.
On Valentine's Day, Kentz prepared a special surprise for all the ladies on the project team. A total of 26 Valentine’s presents were prepared. Each parcel contained a box of Irish chocolates and was individually labeled with each girl’s name. After lunch on St. Valentine’s Day, the girls gathered together and Fergus Burke, on behalf of Kentz, presented the gifts and thanked the girls for their commitment to the project. Each girl had to find the bag with her own name!
Later that evening, Kentz organised a St. Valentine's party and invited many of the other contractors, with whom we interface on the project. This proved to be a great evening of "ceol and craic" on the Island... Irish style!
Kentz is part of an ExxonMobil Integrated Management Completion Team (IMCT) and are together responsible for the completion and handover of the new ExxonMobil office building and a housing complex for ExxonMobil senior personnel. The office is a state-of-the-art complex and will be a landmark and flagship building in Yuzhno, Sakhalin. |

Thanks again on behalf of the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia!
Still not too late to donate. It’s only money!
